First of all, let me thank all of you for your constant support and if you did make it to our World Premiere, I hope you enjoyed the film.
I would like to start by announcing that Butterflies walked out from AOF International Film Festival with The Alan J. Bailey AOF Award of Excellence for Documentary Filmmaking!!!!
We were also nominated for Best Social Commentary 2009, but this Award went to the amazing Victory of the Underdog. I honestly believe this film fully deserved it as all proceeds from this film go to animal shelters around the USA. Please, do check this film out if you get a chance.
But, back to Butterflies ☺
The Alan J. Bailey Award is given out at the end of the night and I have honestly not expected to be even considered for this honor.
When it was announced, that the award goes to me, Ester Brym for Butterflies, I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.
I had no speech prepared and I might have not thanked everyone I meant to.
I might have also not said everything that I would wanted to, but the important thing is that Butterflies has been recognized as truly great film.
Everybody who helped me and worked on the film shares this honor.
If you are interested in seeing Butterflies, we are going to screen in New York City in September and in Philadelphia in October 2009. There are other dates coming and all info is being posted on the film’s website at www.ButterfliesTheMovie.com .
Please, check in there on regular basis or sign up for the mailing list to keep informed.
You can also join the Facebook page here: www.facebook.com/ButterfliesTheMovie where all the upcoming events are listed and you will get invites to all:
Much love to all and looking forward seeing you at the next one,
Ester

Be part of the history on July 27th in LA, see Butterflies
Be there on July 27th, 2009 to see history in making! The online personalities are making it to the big screen and this will, without a doubt, be the end of entertainment as we know it.
You remember when television killed the radio star? Well, this is when Internet kills the TV star :)
No more fabricated characters in movies, no more perfect people that no one can compare to.
These are regular folks, that have it all, and you can see how they did it.
See the YouTube stars taking over the entertainment industry, come and watch the World Premiere of 1st feature documentary film about YouTubers, the award nominated BUTTERFLIES:
Where:
AOF (Action on FIlm) International Film Festival
July 27th, 2009 @ 8PM
Regency Academy Theatre

I am looking forward to meeting everyone each one of you, because this is also a big break in the independent film-making. Films no longer need a crew of hundreds to be presented to crowds and get some attention :)
Let's get together! Maybe we can collaborate on the next one!

Butterflies is nominated by AOF for Best Social Commentary Award 2009
Press Release
For Immediate Release
Lives of YouTube “Weblebrities” Chronicled in Upcoming Documentary
The increasingly popular world of new media has introduced online viewers across the world to a diverse group of individuals in cyberspace. YouTube.com has emerged as one of the leaders to catapult an Average Joe into an instant “Weblebrity” with the stroke of a computer key. Meet six folks in the feature documentary “Butterflies” who share the common goal of becoming internet sensations via YouTube.
Each real-life character in the documentary has made a presence online, with thousands of subscribers following their daily lives and video blogs. “Butterflies” is being presented by AOF International Film Festival, which has nominated the film for Best Social Commentary Award 2009. AOF gives independent filmmakers an opportunity to present their work in front of audiences in Pasadena, CA. Ester Brym, producer, director and editor of the documentary, is thrilled to showcase her work at 8:00 p.m., July 27, 2009 at the Regency Academy Theatre, 673 East Colorado Blvd, Pasadena, California.
“This opportunity to showcase YouTube on a big screen for the very first time will go down in history, because right here, right now, the traditional and new media are merging” Brym said. “Each character in the film represents each one of you. The girl next door, the talented musician, the up and coming actress or the regular guy, who always makes you laugh.”
Trailers for the film have begun circulating online and The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) has information listed about the project, characters and production. For more information about Brym and “Butterflies,” visit www.butterfliesthemovie.com or www.youtube.com/butterfliesthemovie.
